The rules

1. Public-road use is permitted on streets posted at or below 30 mph.
2. Standard golf carts may be used where registered with the town, rather than LSV plating.
3. Driver must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid state driver's license.
4. Golf carts (not UTVs) may use city streets posted 30 mph or less, but not Highway 90 or 609 except to cross. Annual city registration and inspection ($51), a valid driver's license and liability insurance are required.
5. Every passenger must be in a designated seat with a functioning seat belt where required. No riding on laps, bumpers, or cargo beds.
6. No riding under the influence. The same DUI rules that apply to cars apply to golf carts.
7. Yield to pedestrians and bicycles. Use headlights and taillights whenever visibility is reduced.
