- Public-road use is permitted on streets posted at or below 25 mph.
- Standard golf carts may be used where registered with the town, rather than LSV plating.
- Driver must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid state driver's license.
- Registered golf carts may be driven on Gulfport streets posted 25 mph or less with a $100 city registration and decal, valid driver license and insurance. Carts are prohibited in Ward 3, may cross US-90 only at 20th Avenue, and must use the outside lane on multi-lane streets.
- Every passenger must be in a designated seat with a functioning seat belt where required. No riding on laps, bumpers, or cargo beds.
- No riding under the influence. The same DUI rules that apply to cars apply to golf carts.
- Yield to pedestrians and bicycles. Use headlights and taillights whenever visibility is reduced.
