Santa Rosa Beach — what you can and can't do on a cart

Golf carts permitted on streets ≤ 35 mph.

The rules

  1. Public-road use is permitted on streets posted at or below 35 mph.
  2. Only Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs) with a plate, seat belts and DOT lighting may operate on public streets.
  3. Driver must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid state driver's license.
  4. Low-speed vehicles (registered, titled, insured, licensed driver) may use Walton County roads posted at 35 mph or less; Highway 98 is off limits except at signalized crossings. Standard golf carts are not covered by this LSV rule.
