Parking & charging

Parking & charging your rental

Where to park a rental golf cart at Carolina coast beaches, boardwalks and marinas — plus overnight charging tips.

Can I park a golf cart on the beach?

No. Every NC and SC coastal town prohibits carts on the sand. Park in the beach access lot or designated cart parking, then walk over the dunes.

Where do I charge overnight?

Most rentals include a 110V charger that plugs into any standard outdoor outlet. Confirm with your host that your rental house has a covered outdoor outlet — garages are ideal.

How far will a full charge take me?

Electric carts get 30–45 miles per full charge in flat coastal conditions. Lifted carts, hills and bigger loads reduce range. A full charge takes 6–8 hours from empty.

Is boardwalk or marina parking allowed?

Yes at most Carolina coast boardwalks and marinas, but never on the boardwalk itself. Look for cart-specific striped spaces or use compact-car lots.
