Marathon — what you can and can't do on a cart
The rules
- We do not yet have a verified municipal ruleset on file for Marathon. Confirm allowed roads, speed limits, and LSV requirements with the host and the local town office before riding on public roads.
- Every passenger must be in a designated seat with a functioning seat belt where required. No riding on laps, bumpers, or cargo beds.
- No riding under the influence. The same DUI rules that apply to cars apply to golf carts.
- Yield to pedestrians and bicycles. Use headlights and taillights whenever visibility is reduced.

- US-1 through town is the only through road and isn't cart-legal — cross carefully.
- Afternoon showers are routine in summer; a rain enclosure is worth it.
