Our story
A vacation should start with the sea breeze, not a spreadsheet.
Cruise & Scoot was born from one frustrating trip to a coastal community — and the simple idea that renting a golf cart, e-bike, or scooter should be as easy as booking the house.
We planned a week at the beach with family: cousins, kids, coolers, and a rental house three blocks from the sand. What we didn't plan was the three-day scavenger hunt that came next.
The problem
Finding a golf cart meant cross-referencing a dozen Facebook groups, three outdated rental websites, and a handful of paper flyers taped to marina bulletin boards. Half the carts were already booked. The other half had no photos, no price, and no clear rules about street-legality or delivery. By the time we found something, the owner had moved on to another caller.
E-bikes and scooters were worse. We called shops, left voicemails, and drove to three different storefronts only to learn inventory had walked out the door that morning. What should have been a relaxing arrival day turned into a stressful chase.
The idea
We kept thinking: there has to be a better way. Vacationers want a simple, trusted place to see what's actually available, compare real options, and book in minutes. Hosts — the homeowners and small-business owners who already own these vehicles — want an easy way to earn income without becoming full-time rental managers.
So we built Cruise & Scoot: a marketplace that connects guests with local hosts for golf carts, e-bikes, scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles in coastal communities. Real listings, real availability, and a booking experience that feels like the rest of your trip — simple.
What we believe
Coastal towns are best experienced slowly. A street-legal cart to the coffee shop, an e-bike to the pier, a scooter down the causeway — these are the moments that make a vacation memorable. Our job is to remove the friction so you can get to those moments faster.
What drives us
Built for coastal communities
Make it findable
One search should show every available cart, bike, or scooter in town — with real photos, real prices, and real availability.
Rent with confidence
We verify hosts, verify guest documents, and give guests transparent rules before they book.
Keep it local
Hosts are neighbors, not faceless fleets. Every rental supports a coastal homeowner or small business.
Treat guests like guests
From delivery at the beach house to flexible pickup windows, hospitality is built into every trip.
From one coastal town — and growing
We started in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, because that's where the problem hit home. Today, hosts up and down the Carolina coast use Cruise & Scoot to share their carts, bikes, and scooters with visitors who want to explore on their own terms.
