Terms of Service
Last updated October 1, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of cruisescoot.com, the Host App, host storefronts and related tools (the “Services”) provided by Cruise & Scoot (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, booking, listing a vehicle or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
2. What we are, and are not
Cruise & Scoot is a technology platform that connects renters with independent hosts and rental companies who offer golf carts, e-bikes, scooters, mopeds and similar vehicles, and gives those hosts tools to run their business. We do not own, operate, maintain or insure the listed vehicles, and we are not a party to the rental contract between a renter and a host. Hosts are independent businesses or individuals, not our employees or agents. We do not guarantee any host, vehicle, listing or availability.
3. Accounts
Give accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or put others at risk.
4. Renters
- Eligibility and documents. Hosts may require a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, a minimum age or other verification. A booking may be declined or cancelled if requirements are not met.
- Bookings. A request becomes a booking when the host accepts it (or when instant booking confirms it). The price, fees, deposit and rules shown at checkout apply.
- Safe and lawful use. Follow all traffic and local laws, the host’s rules, and posted limits on where and how the vehicle may be used. Never ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Wear a helmet where required or advised, and do not exceed passenger or weight limits.
- Care of the vehicle. You are responsible for the vehicle from pickup (or delivery) until it is returned. Return it on time, in the condition received apart from normal wear, with charge or fuel as the host requires.
- Damage, loss and fines. You may be charged for damage beyond normal wear, loss or theft, late return, and tickets or citations incurred during the rental, as set out by the host’s rules and any deposit authorization you accept.
- Assumption of risk. Riding recreational vehicles carries inherent risk of injury and death. By renting you accept those risks, to the extent the law allows.
5. Hosts and rental companies
- Your listings. You promise that you own or are authorized to rent each vehicle, that listings are accurate (photos, price, availability, rules), and that vehicles are safe, maintained and legal to rent where you operate.
- Licenses, insurance and taxes. You are solely responsible for the permits, business licenses, insurance, sales and occupancy taxes and any local rules that apply to your rentals. See our host guide on pricing, insurance and legal for general information, which is not legal advice.
- Renter data. Renter information and documents you receive may be used only to run that rental and comply with law, and must be kept secure and not sold or shared.
- Your obligations to renters. You are responsible for honoring accepted bookings, providing safe vehicles, and for your own handling of deposits, damage claims and refunds.
- Subscriptions. Paid plans and tools are billed as shown when you subscribe, and you may cancel as described in your plan.
6. Payments, fees and payouts
Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe’s terms. Renters authorize us and Stripe to charge the total shown at checkout, including any deposit authorization or later-approved charges. We or the host may charge a platform or service fee, which is displayed before you pay or set out in your host plan. Host payouts are made through Stripe after fees and may be delayed or withheld for fraud checks, disputes or legal reasons. Cash and pay-link payments recorded by a host are the host’s responsibility.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Each host’s cancellation policy is shown on the listing and at checkout and applies to your booking. If a host cancels, we will work to refund you in full. Refunds go back to the original payment method and may take several business days to appear. Fees charged by payment processors may not be refundable where the law allows.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or violate anyone’s rights, or post false, misleading or fraudulent listings, reviews or information;
- take bookings or payments off the platform to avoid fees where the booking was initiated through it;
- scrape, copy or resell our data, or reverse engineer or interfere with the Services, including by automated means that overload them;
- upload malicious code, or access accounts or data that are not yours;
- harass, discriminate against or endanger other users.
9. AI features
Some features, such as trip search, Host App Ask and website listing import, use artificial intelligence. Results can be incomplete or wrong, so check them before relying on them, especially prices, dates, availability and imported listing details, which you must review before publishing. Questions you enter are logged as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Content you provide
You keep ownership of photos, text and other content you submit. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce and promote it in connection with the Services. You promise you have the rights to do so. Our name, logo, software and site design remain ours.
11. Third-party services and links
The Services rely on and may link to third parties such as Stripe, hosting, messaging and mapping providers. We are not responsible for their services or content.
12. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error free, or that any vehicle, host or renter will be safe, suitable or as described.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and we are not liable for the acts or omissions of hosts, renters or other third parties, or for injury, death or property damage arising from a rental. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.
14. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your content, your rental or listing activity, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
15. Disputes and governing law
Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law rules, and disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, unless the law requires otherwise. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory rights you have where you live.
16. Changes, suspension and termination
We may update these Terms and will post the new date above. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept it. You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if we stop offering the Services. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.
17. General
These Terms, with the policies they reference, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services. If a part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights without our consent; we may transfer ours in a merger or sale.
